I'll be the first to say I was skeptical as hell about getting this done. A member of my Facebook group found the allison master and sent me his way. The guy is seriously a good transmission guy and over all a great guy.
This is a worth while investment.

Me too!
I have been looking for a good buy on a spare TCM to send off for programming.. No need to now.
I am sold on having this gent reprogram mine. I do wonder how it will play if I have to go back to Alison for anything.

It should be fine for service. You wouldn't want them to reprogram the oem cal file.

Yes it will but......
Here's the problem with clone adapters. They do not have the ability to do check sum when sending program. What that means is the programming you send can get corrupted.and you may have to send it more than once. Not the end of the world but a possibility. It's why they are so cheap compared to the actual

Google search Nexiq and there are several articles on how to tell the genuine frome the clones. A used original Nexiq1 go for $300 to $400 on ebay. I found mine on facebook marketplace for $200.

I have a clone on order from china via aliexpress for $125 shipped. We'll see if they meet their shipping estimate which was faster than I would expect.

6th gear option
So I dont know if this is going to work but Im giving it a try.
So I have an MD3060 with a DT466e and only 5 gears. I just purchased an Allison TCU from a International DT466e class 6 truck with 6 gears. The TCU is the newer 500k computer where mine is the older 250k computer.
The new computer is the same engine rpm range and same throttle detect but with 6 gears. So im hoping to be able to plug it right in and have the 6 gears.
The best part is it was only 110.00.
Ill report back once I verify that is works.
But it might be another option, just buy a TCU with the 6th already enabled.

it should work as long as both are set to the same throttle type and both are 3rd GEN.. meaning one isnt the 4th gen with the single connector....

5sp to 6sp
So my old TCU has a CIN of 0B007RK0194 and the tag reads
"PRI Mode: 1-5S1 SEC Mode: 1-5S3" with a throttle detect of "AUTODETECT"
The new TCU has CIN of 0D008JD002L and reads "PRI Mode: 1-6S1 SEC Mode: 1-6S3" with throttle detect of "AUTODETECT"
I talked to my local Allison service manager and was told that the two modes on the tag with the "1-6S1" indicates its a 6 speed program.
Worse case its the newer 500k computer which I can have reprogrammed for the 6th gear, but im hopeful it will plug and play.
The only difference is the RPM range, Mine is 2400 rpm and the new TCU is 2500 rpm, shouldn't make that big of a difference since Im going to the higher tune of 230hp 660tq.
And they are both for DT466e engines.
Just some info for the community to use.

the 2500 RPM means if you have your foot to the floor it wont want to shift till your reach 2500.. most 466s go up to 2600 max so it should be no big deal.. throttle type of autodetect on both is perfect..

J1708 Servicemaxx
I've got a copy of Servicemaxx J1708 and can set the redline to 2500 although it doesn't make power up that high but to pull a gear it might work out better that way. Its currently at 2400 but I just changed it to 2450 just to see what would happen.

This is what my Allison dealer recommended. I'm curious where you got that one.
I am currently talking with Bapos' 'Allison Master.'

Fleebay, check for "Allison ECM" or any number of variations of computer, TCU, TCM, ECU Computer, Module.
I notice there were lots posted but few had any engine related info, but you can always ask the seller.

Why guess on this when you can get it done right? Bricking a trans like that is an expensive experiment

What's the best way to tell if my MD3060 is unlocked? I have 4.78 gearing. I forget what RPM's I was hitting, I want to say around 2100ish at 70 mph.
Mine's a Bluebird so doing the OEM approval letter for the 6th unlock (assuming I have it) is a no-go.
