Allison master

I got in touch with AM about a year ago and purchased a Noregon from him. He installed the software on my computer at that time.
I then got involved on a job related project and didn’t have time for my truck. Finally finished the job project about two weeks ago.
Got back in touch with AM and told him that I wanted to get sixth gear working before heading out on my trip to Texas. It didn’t work out on the first attempt and a few days later I headed out to Texas. About 200 miles into the trip he contacted me and made a second attempt at my first stop.
That attempt was successful and the number 6 appeared on the t-handle control for the first time!
AM has followed through on his commitment to me. Everything didn’t go as smoothly as it could have. My computer had issues, there was a delay getting the Noregon, I have a WTEC2. But he followed up and worked through everything.
I again highly recommend him.

TCM swap

So I'm seeing TCM's going for around $500 for HS model transmissions. Does anyone know if it's possible to just swap the HS in for the PTS?

Thanks!

would I be correct in assuming this is a wtec3 tcu, with a 5spd unlocked? if so, then i would look for a tcu that says 1-6s1 and 1-6s3 in the pri and sec fields?
And does anyone know what the CIN 0C00A390077 means?

Based on the date on the sticker- 9/6/2000- this is WTEC3.
1-5 does mean only 5 gears currently available. S1 & S3 I don’t know about. Most frequently “Primary” Mode is ‘Power’, “Secondary” Mode is ‘Economy’ (tends to run a few hundred rpm’s lower; sometimes it’s nice, sometimes causes a lot of lugging).
You DO want one that has 1-6 to enable 6 gears.
No clue on the CIN coding. Perhaps it’s like a vehicle’s VIN, where each part of the code refers to specific parts/options? Perhaps it’s just an address to tell Allison where to look for the calibration file??

Same as several others here... I sat and watched while someone else did it.

I still haven't done my test drive / quick learn. But it's because my bus is trapped by a muddy dirt road. As soon as things dry out I'll get it out and run it. It's not stuck in the mud, but the main drive to my place has a sharp point in the drive that would drag the belly of the bus so I use the back entrance which is flat... and currently muddy.

I guess I need to start a build thread.

Did you watch an Allison Tech do it or was it a third party you found who can do it?
Did you have to get an authorization letter or did you go back door?

Same same

Same Allison guru who's done others here did mine. It took us a while to get our timing worked out, but once we got a few schedule wrinkles worked out everything was dandy.

I went ahead and let him provide the cables and data link and they arrive in a decent case and appear to be top quality.

It is a little pricey, but retaining the data cables and paraphernalia balances out the cost nicely.

He sent me a link to an app which allows remote functionality, which also allows me to control access to my PC. I send out a password for them to have access. Every time I log into the app it generates a new invitation password. Old ones expire when either of us log out.

All in all I feel it was a fair transaction.

My guestimation math is telling me it should be close to paying for itself around 10 full tank fill ups. I could be way off though.

Quit beating around the bush, what did it cost?

I need mine unlocked also. How do I get in touch with the AM? I emailed the email address someone posted, but no response from the connector.

Is there a bat signal I need to throw in the clouds at night?

I'm following, too. I've sent a couple of emails and PMs, but haven't made the connection yet. We have two Phantoms I'd like to unlock before we sell them...I like that better than passing the task on to the purchaser. Gillig has totally ignored my requests, which is unlike them in other support areas.

If anyone who's made the contact before wants to pass him/her my info, I'd appreciate that. My email is ross@ my screen name here .com (now, who's going to email ross@myscreennamehere.com?).

I'd also like the Allison guru's contact info as well. Could someone who has it PM me?
Thanks!

Panoman14, let me know if you wind up with another contact that can help. I called a shop that was recommended in Oklahoma and they said that they could not do it because the TCM flash leaves a “watermark” in the flash that could be traced back to them, may or may not be true, but they would not take a release from me, said they needed it from the MFG.

Ridiculous that after the vehicle is no longer a school bus, you cannot modify your own property; dictatorship.

I just purchased a 2004 international with Dt466 and Allison 3060. I’m trying to get 6th gear unlocked. I read the posts and was wondering if anyone has the file I could copy to my TCM. To unlock six gear. Or can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
