Differences in different elastoteric coatings?

Besides a big difference in price what is the difference between Henry's Bright White elastomeric coating and Henry's Tropi-cool, or for that matter Lowes Blackjack white elastomeric roof coating? Why is the Tropic-cool so much more expensive than the others? They are all three white elastomeric coatings. Also how much would it take to cover the top of a 37' skoolie well?

I was also thinking about painting the entire inside with it, prior to applying insulation. Would it do any good, as far as sealing and cooling the bus better?

Before getting too far in, look to see which have silicone added. I went with Black Jack 700 for my roof, and while it's a lower-grade product, it does NOT contain silicone. From what I understand, basically nothing would ever stick to the roof coat again if I used a silicone-infused/based roof paint, regardless of how much it helped with heat.

Henry's are fine fine products, the time it would take to research to the point you are **sure** something else works as well and lasts as long

would likely not be worth the price difference.

The silicon issue is valid, but only if you plan to rely on adhesives rather than mechanical fixtures to attach components to those areas you're painting.

Standard RV gear attached normally is no problem in that regard.

I would recommend NOT using any elastomeric coating. Unless you have some weird leaks or something (I really can’t see ANY reason to use it)

Save your money. Save your sanity. Just paint if necessary and move on.
