Dropping The Floor / Rust Treatment VIDEO

We have seen a lot of roof raises, but we decided to drop the floor to make more head room in our 1961 GM Fishbowl / New Look bus.

Here is our part 1 bus conversion video, showing the floor drop, insulation removal and rust prevention!

Welcome to the floor-dropper's club. Nice work on the bus and the video.

Hey, thanks! We haven't seen any other floor drops yet, that's awesome you did the same! We'll check out your build thread and thanks for the kind words! - Peace & Love

I've never run into anybody else with a dropped floor, so it wasn't a club until you guys came along. I've been calling mine a "sunken floor" but I like dropped floor better, sounds less doomed and more intentional. There are a couple of people here who used to have buses with dropped center aisles but nobody active, and a couple of other people who have lowered their shower stalls below floor level.

I liked your previous video, too - it really highlighted the utter randomness of bus conversion expenses.

That's too funny! We really wanted to preserve the integrity of the structure, rather than cutting and raising the roof. Seeing as we had so much bay storage room, it made a lot of sense to drop the floor.

Thanks for the kind words and info!! - Peace & Love
