International 3400 Floor Prep

Hey guys,

Posting here to ask for help with the floor of my International 3400. First time conversion, I’ve pulled the ply up and would like to rust proof and paint next.

This bus model has what I’d refer to as a pair of seat tracks running along the floor, which seem to be welded to the floor metal every half meter or so. When looking into how best to remove them, I come across plenty of threads etc referring to the seat tracks that are positioned on the side wall, but nothing related to the tracks running along the bottom. Maybe my terminology is off, and these are not referred to as tracks- to clarify, see attached pic. I’m talking about the red arrows.

Grinder on the weld points seems straight forward enough, but I was hoping to get a thumbs up from somebody who’s dealt with this before, before I get stuck in. Should they be removed? Are there any structural issues to consider? Is there a trick avoid cutting into the floor or to clean up rough cuts once complete?

Thanks guys.

How is the conversion going? I'm looking at an International 3800 and was wanting to get your opinion on the bus.
