Inverter size

So I ordered a Dometic 15000btu roof air condition Saturday, and I am trying to find an inverter. According to my research, that unit use 3300 starting watts and 2000 continuos watts. I would like to be able to run that and a mini fridge/freezer full time off of shore power or battery's. Do I need like a 4000 watt inverter?

Given what you said, 4000watts should be about right, though more doesn't hurt. You will also need one helluva battery bank. You may also wish to go with a pure sine inverter as the cheap modified sine wave inverters will make your equipment run hot/less efficient.
