raise roof and chuck box for fiberglass body

I have a fiberglass bodied former transit shuttle bus 23' long. I would love to raise the fiberglass roof and also add a chuck box to the rear (but not attached to chassis. So the roof would be raised a foot with a plexiglass circular sky light about 2' in diameter. For those interested it is a 1999 Ford chassis E450 with a startrans fiberglass body. I do have experience with fiberglass thru building small boat.
The engine is a 7.03 powerstroke diesel. I paid $700 right out of service from the local transit and then sold the wheel chair lift for $300. have had it for years.

The interior is built and I do not want to build in the chuck box to the existing interior, but could cut off the back and build an extension, so am looking for your experience in raising the roof and building the rear extension. I do not lack ideas, but I have found it smart to always ask those who have more experience because once you start, you're stuck.
