On a related note...we need a pendant (the control box with two switches, on a coiled cord) for our Braun. I can make a switch box, but it would be nice to have an OEM one if I can find one that's not $$. Unfortunately, ebay sellers want as much for the pendant as we paid for the whole lift!

I've got a braun controller with cord. Is that a "pendant"?
I think I have two of them, but my bus storage stuff was recently disturbed by the "landlord".

That's exactly it! It's worth $100 to me, if you've got one you would part with (and can find it!). PM me a PayPal email and I can give you my shipping address.

You might want to check your pendant control to see if it a 2 switch unit, or a single switch.
Braun made em both ways, and if you need a 2 switch unit you can't convert a single to dual.
Nice engineering on their part!

We've got a few buses with ramps and I've seen interlocks on the door in that position, but not on the ramp itself. Keep in mind, I'm talking about Braun or Ricon lifts not the underfloor lifts. Of course, I've not seen everything by any stretch of any imagination!

my experience
Mine came out w/o problems. There were a couple of switches in the upper left corner but they didn't seem to interfere with anything so I just taped them up and tucked them away.

Great idea on donating. Makes sense that the $300 people are getting doesn't make a difference to them the way it could to someone in need.

Might be best to not make a judgement on someone selling their lift to make a little bit of money to use on heir build. Maybe they need it.

Any tips on removing a lift safely for someone who wants to buy it?
There is a guy in a wheelchair who wants to buy mine. He can come with a friend and a truck. Do you think his friend and I should be able to get it into the truck without damaging it? Just disconnect and push?

They are very, very heavy. Many hundreds of pounds. We managed to get mine out by disconnecting everything, backing the buyer's pick up up to the exit door and very carefully 'walking' it from one vehicle to another. Fortunately they were both the same height.
I would be really careful about it. You could do serious damage if it fell - either to a person in the way, a vehicle or to the lift itself. But that said, it can be done. Good luck!

Depends on the guys and the truck. I doubt they'll damage the lift but they could damage themselves.
