Question RV Windows?

I don't have a bus yet (looking at one this weekend!) so I'm trying to do as much research as I can before the work begins.

I would like opinions on replacing the school bus windows with RV windows. How difficult is it to do? Is it worth it for insulation or security reasons?

I'm planning a (summer) trip to the arctic - where it can be a balmy 15C in Iqaluit in July as well as Xmas holidays at home in Ontario (usually -10/-15C overnight).

I'm concerned that I will be spending $$$ on insulation to get the highest R rating I can but lose all the heat via the windows - or let all the heat in once I make my way to warmer destinations down south.

I also worry about security as we plan on spending time in Mexico at some point. I love the country and I've always felt safe there but I don't want to look like an easy target either. I know that a determined person won't be stopped by any window (and we may add bars for that trip).

Is it worth the cost and time to change out the windows? Would a good set of RV windows provide decent insulation, once heavy curtains are added? Or am I just adding work and cost for minimal gain?

Thanks!
