Skinning - Top Row of Rivets

I am planning on skinning over all my windows for insulation and leak purposes. i watched a youtuber and it seems to make sense to follow original laps etc.

The only thing I am unsure on is do I need to drill out the top row of rivets and then slide my new skin up under the "rain divertor" or drip edge, and the rivet back through all layers? Or can i just slide it up under there without fastening. they will be fastened every 30" roughly (or maybe it's 60"???)

Lastly, in the last picture there are a series of rivets holding the rear most skin behind the rearmost window. Are those blind rivets? They have like a panhead profile. (AND THE PIC IS ROTATED, UGH)

Convert your pics to PNG format before uploading and you'll never have rotation problems.

If you push the new metal as far under the drip edge as you can, and you've applied a bead of a high-quality sealant (I like 3M 5200 Fast Cure) on the surface beneath the drop edge (behind new metal skin) then you're good. As a final touch, run a bead of paintable sealant/caulk over the joint beneath the drip edge (in that V). No water will ever get past all that.
