Skoolie Engine Detail

Hello fellow skoolies. I'm not sure if this was already brought up in another thread but I have a 2000 flat-nose front engine Bluebird, 5.9 cummings engine and Allison transmission. I have a lot of dirt/grease/general nastiness on my engine and underneath my bus so I was trying to detail my engine and underbody with a degreaser (purple power) and a pressure washer.

Any tips on major do's and don'ts? there weren't a lot of videos online detailing this on a school bus specifically so I wanted to bring it here and hopefully avoid foolish mistakes.

Of course I know to cover electrical with aluminum foil but please let me know of any easily forgettable spots to cover what other steps should I take to ensure a smooth process and properly working bus afterwards.

i would say unless you have fuse boxes or electrical connections with missing covers then yes cover them.
if not crank it up and let it run while washing.
just dont directly concentrate the pressure washer on any fuse box or main connections and you should be fine.
with the purple power and a heavily filthy diesel you will use less if you go out of your way to scrape and or loosen everything that you can.

Thread made me think of this ride I saw Tues. night. Cummins 5.9 clean enough to eat off of.
