Working for Midwest Bus in IL... the best days to remove stickers *unless from the caked on buses* Was on the days when it was super hot and then a down pour... got out with a razor and was just able to scrape away all the lettering with the goo and not even cut into the paint

My tried and true technique uses the things I always have lying around: A heat gun (or propane torch with heat spread), a plastic scraper, a rag and diesel or kerosene to melt the sticker glue.

The stickers come off with the scraper easy when warm. Then I wet a rag in diesel or kerosene and dab it on all the glue to moisten it. By the time you come full circle to where you started wetting the glue use that same rag to wipe it right off. If not on the first past, at least the second.

A heat gun and a paint scraper (though my fingernails worked too to get the edges up once they were heated) and goo gone with the paint scraper for the residue. The pro goo-gone spray bottle from walmart for around $5 worked great. And my paint scraper was $1 from the dollar tree. My letters had been spray-painted over before I bought it, when I was working on it I just kept thinking next time look for a bus that has a shorter school district name 😉 I will be sure to clean with a degreaser before I prime and paint that strip, I am still not sure if I want to try to match one of my faded yellow colors or just do black
