Thomas Roof Raise

Looking at buying a 12 Window Thomas. I'd like to do a roof raise, but it seems like there might be some difficulties to pulling it off. Could some of you explain the specific issues? Is it all Thomases or only some.

The biggest obstacle I know of is usually that Thomas bodies slope inward from the bottom of the window line so to cut and thrust straight up you can only do so between the window and chair rail which doesn't offer much vertical area for reinforcing the splices.
