2001 Bluebird 72 Passenger Conversion

I've been lurking for a while, and finally found the right bus so I figured it was time to register and start documenting my progress.

It's a 2001 Bluebird, Flat front, has a 24v Cummins Diesel with only 127,000 miles, automatic transmission, air brakes, and six new tires. Total amount of usable space inside: 7' 4" x 30'.

The winning bid was $2,700 plus tax.

Only thing it needs is new batteries.

Currently, I have the seats and the rear heater removed but not much else has been done to it.

Plan is to be able to live in full-time. I'm not in a huge rush to get it done, so I'll just be working on it as I have the extra funds and on my days off work.

I'll be posting some floor plans in the near future and welcome any and all feedback.

Good luck ! I'm watching exactly the same bus/model (without the ceilling window) but in Canada for exactly same price (but with taxes here). Funny coincidence ^^

You got a solid deal, looks like a great start! I will be following along with the progress.

Since last week about the only thing I've done was replace the bus batteries and upgrade all of the dome lights to LED.

Today I got the stickers off the inside of the bus and painted the ceiling. I decided on oil-based Valspar paint and a bag of ThermaCels I purchased online. It's too early to tell if the paint additive really does anything as far as insulation but for the price I figured it was worth a try.

This thing works wonders for removing stickers and decals:

LEDs are considerably brighter than the old lights:
