2003 fs-65 (stickers)
Bought an 03 fs 65 with a 5.9 cummins 2 years ago. My wife and I wanted to do some travelling with the kiddos. Done a few things ovee the last 2 years. Started out as the 185hp cummins, 5spd eaton and 4.10 gears. I installed an airdog lift pump. Removed a leaf from each spring pack to help the ride. Changed the 9r 22.5s to 11r 22.5 in the rear. Straight pipes it to help egts. Have a boost guage egt guage. Also have alcoa wheels on the bus. Interior is not finished but its always going to be a work in progress. Installed rv275hp injectors. Also studded the head after a headgasket job with arp headstuds.

Very nice! Do you know what the interior length from the drivers seat to the back door is?

We're still in the planning stage but this is one of the sizes we're considering for us and a dog.

For two people and a dog it would be a perfect size in my mind. I have 5 kids it is a little cramped at times but it sure beats the minivan even when going to town for groceries lol.

Can't argue that. My bus is 4 windows short of what I want but it has a md-3060 trans. Can't complain

Which leafs did you remove? Do you feel like it improved the ride quality enough to be worth others doing the same?

I took the bottom leaf(thickest one) out of the main leaf pack. The bus was very rough before i did that and my wife even said it was way better after it was done. After i installed the 11r22.5s and filled the 32 gallon water tank I would say it is comparable to my dodge 2500 megacab. If you can do the work I believe it is well worth it, just make sure the u-bolts are changed aswell.
Hows the weather in Texas right now i'm headed right close to where you are in 2 weeks.

I should add to that. If you do take the leaf out. Either make a spacer for where it was or cut th leaf other wise your ride height will drop in the back. I was in a hurry to get mine done and didnt do that so the back end dropped a bit. Looked kinda goofy rollin down the highway with the back end squattin a bit, but the taller tires helped that out.

Oh I gotcha. Mine definitely rides better now that it’s fully converted. Had the leaf spring bushing’s done and that drastically improved the ride quality. Still deciding if it needs to soften up a little more, time will tell! I appreciate the information!
The weather is good right now, it depends on what part of Texas you’re traveling to, it also depends on the week, day, hour on what the weather is like lol. Texas has screwy weather sometimes. Where in Texas are you going?

The weather sounds very much like saskatchewan. One minute is sunny and the next its snowing.
We are headed to waco, Dallas and big sandy.
Im sure its alot warmer there than here. Been just above freezing for the last couple off days and freezes over night.

I thought I remembered going through Yorkton, but wasn't sure - looked at the map and realised we went through there one winter in the mid 90's traveling from Winnipeg to Saskatoon one winter

Yes it is definitely warmer. Been in the 80's the last couple of days, I live about 30 miles east of Dallas. If you have any issues when you roll through north Texas give me a holler and I will help anyway I can.
