You're not the only one with this idea. Other members of this site are doing, or have done, the same. Nitkis is clearing his land now. While, I'm several years ahead. We lived in our barn for seven years. Now it's a rental.

I cut out a bus space for my bus to park on my land. I bought 100% forested land so it's more of a challenge because I have to clear forest to get any open space. The benefit is extreme privacy. Nobody will know I'm there unless I want them too.

I also just finished hand laying a cement platform for a saw Mill that will allow my free wood for my workshop and eventually house.

Right on that is awesome! I'd love to get 100% forested land but there's not much of it left around me in my price range anyways ahhaha I'm looking at some parcels barely 3 acres just far enough out of town some are wooded but isn't 10+ acres like I'd like. I will have neighbors unfortunately That will be amazing to have a sawmill onsite, that is a good amount of cement to mix in a wheel barrow hahah the pad looks good

I'm probably getting ahead of myself but one of the main reasons I decided to build the bus was to put as much solar as I can. I have been looking on signature solar. Would this be a good kit? https://signaturesolar.com/complete-...kpv-kit-e0006/

I haven't settled on a floorplan but I am liking this. Fresh water tank(s) and pump under the queen bed. Washer/dryer in the very back with some space for storage, some tools etc I'm just figuring out google sketchup so it's not the best lol I just kinda wanted to have an idea of a layout so I can work out what will fit and where as I go. Weight distribution becomes a concern because I have most everything going down the driver side idk how much that matters in a rig this size but I imagine it has an effect. I thought maybe putting the solar batteries on the passenger side would offset some of that weight. Maybe an awning off the passenger side.

Before and after view of the side electrical panel. I still have a few zip ties to put on and such but there's alot less spaghetti in there now

Did you do the roof-raise yourself (with or without help) or did you hire someone to do it for you? Asking for my own build, I'd like to raise it 14" inches, but I'm wondering if I can save costs by DIY-ing it with some help.
