Don't feel alone, pretty much everyone that has wheel chair tracks and plywood go through the same ordeal, exactly.

Trying again. Not sure why my pics go sideways.
Anyway...I'm going lengthwise from wheel to wheel, and crosswise. No reason. Just thought it would look interesting

It's a site issue, nothing you can do about it.

You got exactly what I want to get! I've been watching Johnny Ringo's sales videos for Las Vegas Bus Sales for some time, and am pretty much set on a Thomas HDX 31-footer with lift... I'm nearly 70 and use a wheelchair much of the time, so I want that lift! I think those folks do a great job with detailing and adding new batteries, and will even take the seats out for a fee. Keep me up to date on your project!

I intend to post each step of the way. And LVBS really were easy to deal with. I'm having a problem with my lift, texted Alex, the guy who sold it to me. We weren't able to fix it, but he responded right away and gave me a couple tips on things to look for. So, there is some service after the sale. As an old car salesman, I always appreciate that.

Painted
I found some gallon size oil-based enamel paint in California. lol. You think CARB is weird about diesel smog, check out the rules on volatiles.
Anyway, I had forgotten what a joy oil based paint is with a sprayer. And what a pain it is with a brush.
But I got it all done in one day. Just a tad over one gallon of paint. I will probably throw a coat of polyurethane over everything in a week or so, when it cures.

Update
So, painted, floors down, and two beds in the back built. I went with steel for the bed frames because it's cheaper than wood. Crazy.
Kitchen roughed in. Bar sink and a two burner induction cook top.
Toilet and shower roughed in.
Now I'm waiting on parts (holding tanks and water heater), to get the underneath part done.
Couple things about a diesel pusher...downside: working around 4 wheelwells instead of two. Not sure why I was surprised at that.lol. But I did have to alter the layout I had in mind. Upside: no drive shaft. Other than the 100 gallon fuel tank, there's not much under here. Room for probably 300 gallons of tanks. I'm going less than 100 (50 fresh, 30 gray, 15 black). But I can place them where I want them instead of trying to figure out where they'll squeeze in.

Dave:
I bought the same bus from the same folks at LVBS. Excellent service. I have not really got a start on mine, as it was sitting in a shop to get an oil leak repaired as well as to add a block heater, for two weeks. I drove mine home 1500 miles to Bellingham WA. ran like a top and got about 7.5 mpg (not a scientific test)
Anyway I will not be using my lift. Not sure it works, but if you need a part or the whole thing you are welcome to it.
You stated that you used a grinder for the seat removal, did you find that you just could not get to some of the nuts? Or was there another reason.
Thanks for posting your photos, your information is very helpful to me and everyone!
Cheers,
Chris

I will pay any thing for the hand controller for the lift. Mine appears to be non-operational.
Grinding out the bolts was mostly a function of being a solo act. I learned with the last one how much work it is to go under, vise grip a nut, then go up and twist a bolt...plus I just love my angle grinder and find excuses to use it. Lol

I've been a little stuck waiting for holding tanks. But they are supposed to be here Thursday, so I decided it's time to do the topside plumbing.
I'm thinking of installing a door behind the sink in my house....sure makes connections easier than laying on the floor looking up.

I need to run an outlet to that TV, brace the kitchen cabinets, and plug two holes in the floor. Then I'm done. Sorry I haven't kept up this thread as I went, but I just got in the zone and have been spending all my spare time giitin' 'er dun

Basically Done
Just need to paint a few areas, and install the new stereo today. But I thought I would post some pics before I hit the road this weekend for a quick 2 night shakedown cruise.

I have the same bus and I have all of the seats out but I have no idea how to get the floor up. Where do I start and what do I do?

Picked those up on Amazon. Back folds down to make a bed. So now I can sleep 4, and seat 10.
