I've taken a break from endless removal of stickers, reflective tape and decals to play on the computer a little more. Any opinions on these three mockups?

I like #3.
It's hard. I am putting finishing touches on my paint job. It looks good on small screen, but bus is big canvas....
What I did is try before I buy- I tinted the primer to better visualize.
Here are some ideas to confuse you further.

I also vote #3 I think it's mostly where you have the lines on the bus I like better but the colors look nice also.

Wow! Those are a lot of ideas for sure! My goal is to create something that isn't too boring, but that isn't nearly impossible to pull off.

Finally got all the reflective tape off. Any tips on removing the adhesive residue?

try 3m adhesive remover, goof off, or a rubber wheel if all else fails.

I've tried acetone, goof off, and a rubber wheel. I suppose it will get done eventually, but good grief. I thought the hard part was getting the tape off, I think this is going to be an even bigger chore!

Not done but the end is in sight. I tried the rubber wheel again and it did help a lot.

IF you wear it out, they're a LOT cheaper online than at local retailers. I got em for ten apiece vs the $35 I paid for one at the auto parts store.
Glad to hear its working out!

Looking good- did you degloss that paint, because yours was shiny. They have liquid deglosser, but i prefer sandpaper- #220 light.
Paint top-down for less spatters. block-it on for first coat, then come back w/ tape for detail lines.

Well it's two months and counting on the inquiry with Thomas to write a letter to unlock sixth gear on my transmission. Just got a response yesterday from them that another similar request has been denied recently. I did not realize that they did not relatively routinely authorize this kind of thing and now I'm nervous that they're going to deny my request.

You may have better luck shopping Allison techs. Make sure the shop does the bigger 3000 series stuff. It will tell you on Allison's dealer locator what they service. Ask to speak to the tech, try not to use the word 'bus'- RV. My local shop said he'd do mine for $300, but he wants whole vehicle, so I am finishing my paint so it looks nothing like a school bus.
Good Luck

Well, I talked with the local Allison shop and it this is what they said they need. Hopefully it will be ok since others on this side with near identical busses have been approved. If plan A doesn't work then I'll start thinking more seriously about plan B. Allison shop quoted $150 for the work.

Sounds like he is by the book. Great price, but requires letter form coachbuilder signed by engineer, usually. There was another post where they got it done for $275 IRC without the impossible letter..

If I recall, CadillacKid took out his transmission control module entirely and shipped it off to an aftermarket transmission builder with a note explaining that he was building <something not a school bus> and needed it. You might want to check with him, or read his transmission swap thread.
