I saw that thought about covers; I had the identical idea when I saw them.
I'm curious if you could raise the lights up a bit to the height of those roof ribs. It looks like you have the same ones as me and I'm worried they'd pool water on the lights by not letting it drain off the edges.
Great work man this is inspiring!

I've had quite a bit of rain and no problem with any pooling. I think the curve in the roof keeps it from happening. There's a little bit of clearance between the side of the skylight in the ribs so there's some space for water to sit if it needs to but it seems like it just runs off.

Took advantage of the rainy weather to work on a solution for locking. I still need to put in bolts 5 and 6 but for the first time in probably forever I can lock the thing!

Yeah it does. Breaks-up the largeness of the bus.
How high is it inside your STL ? I was kicking-around the idea of getting one I know of that needs TLC.

Thanks guys! I must say that I think it may have been a mistake to roll and brush vs. Spray. Just so time consuming, but turning out decent. The ceiling is about 6'2". I can stand but it would be short for some. I love the stl though. Just a super nice bus. I test drove about 7 or 8 busses and if felt like it was in a different league as far as feeling modern, tight, and clean.

I dig the trolley-car look on the front end. The one I am pondering is a kneeler. Do you have air-ride, as well?
Can't tell you how smart you were to test-drive a bunch. Too many fall in love with the first one they meet.
Once it's painted, it's no longer a 'school bus', but now a Motor Coach.

Mine is not air ride, and if I'm honest I would probably have air ride if it were as simple as choosing. But the rear engine and longer wheelbase give it a very nice ride. And it doesn't lean on the corners like the air ride bus that I drove. I'm happy, but that would be a find for an air ride one. What do you think is wrong with it?

Well, it's not a runner....can't fix on site....is $1000 tow away....and would be another full-sized bus in my driveway. Might just put the Mrs. over the edge.
I'm still going to put in a low bid, guy wants gone b4 Winter.

Been sitting for few years, no radiator.... unloved. Some rust. $1000 to get it home.
I've been told I'm at my quota for large, broken vehicles. But I like fixing vehicles....

Sounds like you could easily spend a lot getting that thing going unless you have an inexpensive access to parts and a shop to work on it in.
