57 Chevy 6700 Build

Found in a field in Capitan, New Mexico. Soon transported a few hundred miles north where we are working to get this old bus running and driving again. Lots of rust repair and reconditioning to go, will update this thread as things progress

Oh my you are nuts..... good luck. Seriously though a neat project. Do you plan a restoration or are you going with a modern drive train?

That will make a great skoolie/conversation piece.
I'd pause the build until I had any title issues sorted out.

(Of course, I have no ideal what your state requires.)

Like Meathead, I'll be looking forward to your updates.

Great looking under side. That will be a real beauty when done!

Undercarriage complete

Too bad no one will ever see it but I am very satisfied knowing it is “done”.

Slow but steady progress….

That's a really low ceiling by default. I'd almost want to do a roof raise if it were mine, but I can understand keeping within the bounds of restoration. Seems decently wide though. Great project!

Its actually standard height, 6’3” inside, by default.

6'3 inside! It sure doesn't look it. Maybe it has a much lower floor than a bus from the 90's, maybe that's the trick. Or maybe it's a visual trick from the round corners throwing me off. Pretty cool to have the height but look low profile, now I want to find me one of these.
