97 thomas built

Looking at a 97 Thomas Built flat nose front engine.
VIN 1T88R3B14V1150032
The guy says it has a 4 cylinder Cummins diesel and an Allison tranny.
Was told on another site it is probably a 5.9L Cummins.
With the vin can anyone tell me what motor and tranny it has and if its desirable for a long flatnose bus. Thanks

Should be a 7.2 6 cylinder in it.

Here's your VIN info:

A pretty high amount of miles, wear, and tear for the asking price.
Looks like any $1500-$2500 bus to me.

Where did you find all that info not included in the OP?

It's in the ad:

Very good condition, everything works, no leaks, little rust, and no broken glass. Engine (Cummings diesel)/Allison Transmission runs good, and Lots of room to do as you want. No special license required to drive, Good brakes,

Solar system intact, CB, Radio, Sink, Electric hookup, Particularly Insulated, Plywood flooring, Alarm system, carpeted, ready for you to personalize to your needs. I used for RV for short time then storage.

It looks like it has either an AT-545 or an MT-643.

I ran the vin on a different decoder than 01Marc and it said that the bus has a Cummins 8.3. You may want to ask for engine pictures or call Thomas with the vin to get a more reliable answer. They can tell you both engine and transmission specs.

That said, I agree that $6000 for that bus is too much. There are plenty of nicer ones out there for $2k-$4k.

Good luck on your quest.

Google is your friend

Out of respect for the OP I did not post the link to the ad as he is considering buying the bus and he did not offer up the link.
