Beymer Bus
Finally decided to start a build thread. Been going for over 3 years now.
Purchased a 2004 International RE300 from Kobussen's in Oshkosh, WI in January of 2021. Thankfully no issues on the relatively short hour and fifteen minute ride home.

Sourced some Duraplate to make window deletes (worked great) and painted a layer of tractor implement white on the roof.

Interior gutted. Floors patched, plenty of Ospho on the rust and a coat of Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer down.

Subfloor work. Decided to go with a 2x4 studded grid, 1.5 inch pink foam in between and 3/4 plywood on top.

wow, that looks really scary.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to do something similar.
How difficult was it for you to get the floorplates off the beams?
Are they welded or just glued?
Thanks and regards from Germany,
Micha

Indeed, have to admit I was overwhelmed at first. Soldiered on thanks to others on this site who have been through the same battle.
It took a good bit of fine tuning with an angle grinder to get the old rusted metal floor up. There were some spot welds that broke free with extra force from a good ol' crowbar.

ok, that gives me some hope.
I'm meanwhile somewhat practised with the angle grinder, after i had to completely remove the side parts all around that had countless rust holes over which simply sheet metal was glued.

The grinding wasn't that bad, just wear clothes you can throw away, and wear a 3M Respirator to protect your lungs, wear safety glasses that cover your skin completely (no air gaps) and get to it.

get a good denim or cotton shirt and starch it good.
the spray starch works ok just give it a good heavy coating.
now you have a welding grinding cutting shirt that will last awhile as long as you keep up with the starch as it starts to wear out or after washing.
