It was 30 degrees on my way in to work this morning. It'll probably top out at 75 today, but beginning next week will be back into the 90's. Goofy weather so far this year, matches up with all the rest of the goofy things going on in 2020!

The pattern where I live for a couple weeks now has been: 1) daily predictions of rain and thunderstorms, 80% to 90% chance, followed by 2) no rain at all. Apparently you've been stealing our rain.

LOL the second. I don't lock my bus, still haven't fixed the lock I broke on the ride home. They wouldn't need a ladder.
I got so used to the ladder being in one spot, against the open window at the shower. Window stays open no problem if it rains in there. Ladder stays there, never think any more about breaking a window.
But I welded my frame about 1/4" too tight and the solar panel couldn't get in there. So I moved it, was on the ladder grinding and rewelding. Then I was on the roof at least 10 minutes before I heard something and didn't realize what it was until I came down and saw it.

Haven't had a picture in a while. I have 4 panels secured in place now. Aside from the broken window I have a tiny bit of forward progress.
Here's a close-up of the z brackets I spent too much on and didn't end up using as they're meant. The bolts that came with them weren't long enough. I used the self tapping screws that came with it. I expect to replace them at some point but will monitor for now before buying longer bolts.
Got up early-ish this morning. Started working on the bus about 9:30. 20 minutes work 20 minutes hiding from the heat. I was over it by noon. Went back about 6pm.
Thinking of getting up at 6am but it's 11 and I'm still drinking coffee so we'll see.

In battery news I've had two panels connected to the battery I think 10 days now. Running two ceiling fans and the bathroom fan 24/7 and getting about 4 hours of float charge every day now.
The BMS isn't working yet. I assume it's because of the shunt not being connected. And I'm still waiting on my inverter to draw amps through the shunt anyway. Kind of ignoring it for now. But the batteries are in the hall. Cut up wires in the floor. The bus is a mess and starting to bother me. But I'm staying on the roof till that's done.
This is the part where I wish I knew what I was doing lol. But I was thinking earlier I should have got the batteries and the panels and the ac before the summer. But I knew even less about this back then anyway. I'm definitely putting a fridge in here the moment I get my inverter. I need access to cold water.

I've got turn signals on the side of the bus.
Right underneath the rack supports.
Guess who drilled through the wires? On both sides!
They feed up the channel between the windows. Oops.

After I tell you the second part, maybe you should.
Because after I realized what I did on that side, I went to the other side, and figured I would drill through the first layer of steel, but not cut the wires, so I could maybe feed them through better before finishing my hole.
And drilled through the wires on that side as well.
And I really believe I'm the smartest one in my family.

Larger than I expected. And not the inverter I originally ordered. That never came. After a month I got a hold of the company. They're having trouble hiring enough people. In China. So I guess what I ordered isn't even manufactured yet.
I cancelled and bought a fuelzero unit. I don't know much about the company.
Still working on the rack on the roof. Still. Ten minutes at a time, twenty minute heat break. After driving around all day in the heat with limited ac. But getting closer

I've been working on my bus at midnight. It drops to 80°F. I just hate having to use the headlamp to see. But working under the doghouse, I need to use a drop-lamp anyway, so not really a big deal...
