I can now say the bus is complete! Well, you all know that these things are never truly finished; but we've gotten to the point we are thrilled with everything about the bus. I still have some big projects planned for next year (rear porch, roof deck, etc) but for the time being we're moving from construction phase to camping phase. Pretty excited to see how it feels actually using the bus for its intended purpose. We'll do a single night next weekend at a hipcamp listing nearby to get a feel for things, and then we're off to Kentucky for a week starting Oct. 10.

One thing i did discover this weekend after finally putting the mattress in. . . my gas struts that hold the bed frame at 45 degrees (to access water pump and batteries from inside the bus) are not strong enough to do so with the weight of the mattress on it. For now i'll just use a wood prop as needed.
Edit: also took the bus to the scales. 21,400 lbs with full water tank and full diesel tank

What weight rating were the gas struts you were trying to use rated at?

Just trying to get a feel for future reference.

Wow! Very nice work, and very quick as well. 21,400 complete, I'm 20,600 stripped down empty. I'm hoping to keep it under 30,000 finished. I love the flat/sloped ceiling vs the curved ceiling. Looks very welcoming and homey inside. Well done!

That is awsome. Your build was one of the driving factors in how I did my roof raise(transition vs forehead). I watched your build as it progressed but despite all that you posted it still left me wanting to see more. It is great to see the full tour of your vehicle and hear your story. It sounds kinda cheesy but you finished your beautiful build on this forum and it was like a movie that left the viewer wanting more follow up. Thank you for that and congratulations on you pursuits!

Thanks for watching! We've now been living full time in the bus for 8 months with no plans to stop anytime soon. I do have some interior modifications I plan on making soon but mostly cosmetic/extra storage.
We have decided to start doing bus/van builds for people on the road. Anything from small projects to solar installs to full builds. Hoping to be able to sustain the nomadic lifestyle this way. Have a couple projects already scheduled and possibly a full build lined up for late summer.
