bus models

hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out the models for a certain bus. I've decided o a flat nose Rear Engine bus( they seem to be the golden child for a skoolie build).

Does anyone know the different models? or do I just search for flat nose RE bus on google? thanks for the help.

Conventional - engine up in front of the windshield.
FE - front engine flat nose
RE- rear engine flat nose

I like the RE. They are much quieter while driving & fairly easy engine access.

What info exactly are you looking for?

Flat nosed rear engine buses are commonly classified as Type D or transit style buses but searching for this will also cover many urban city buses and motorcoaches. Off the top of my head though, the most common type D school bus models you'll find are...

International 3000 made by AmTran / IC Bus a division of Navistar

Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX/EFX made by Thomas Built Buses a division of Freightliner

Blue Bird All American RE or AARE

Beyond these, you may encounter Gilligs and Crowns which are less common but often highly coveted. These and there are also other brands which have long gone away or were acquired by another brand but if you find any of these you're probably looking at a 30+ year old bus:

Wayne
Ward
Superior
Carpenter (also Crown by Carpenter)
Collins
Corbeil
Mid Bus
StarCraft

I hope this helps.
