Central FL Diesel Mechanics

Hello! Looking to be proactive and see if anyone has any mechanic recommendations for Central Florida. Will mechanics make house calls? haha

Some will. Search for Mobile Mechanic on Craigslist. You'll get more results for regular auto mechanics, but you might find a diesel mechanic too. We found one outside of Chicago when we were looking.

I started this same thread a few weeks ago.
Anyone in the area worth a damn charges $140 an hour and is booked for the next year.

Well that's a bummer, gotta start putting the pennies aside. Have you explored the idea of getting one of these School District County mechanics? I wonder if they do side jobs or look for that kind of work outside their reg. jobs.

The few districts we have talked to say their mechanics do not really want a second job. Some do not allow their mechanics to work side jobs. I can understand that. There may be a few that want a little extra work so you might find one.

Haven't found anyone at all in the twenty years I've had buses.

Where are you located? I have a fantastic mechanic but don’t think he will travel to far.

Hey I have a great diesel mechanic that we use for our skoolie. He's located off of Sarno Road by 95. Let me know if you'd be interested in getting his number. Super good guy. He knows his stuff. I don't know how to message you direct. Lol you can message us on Instagram too since I'm not on here much. Ig: TheWSSbus

When you say "Central Florida", could you be a little more specific? I am located South of Ocala, Just North of The Villages. My family has been doing Diesel, RV, and Bus repair for many years. Our hourly rate for most diesels is only $100 per hour. We do charge more for traditional RV's because of how many have to be accessed from the interior, and the taping off and prep too protect interiors on large coaches is time consuming. If I am close enough too help, let me know. We do service calls, depending on the distance. Thanks, David
