Aquitaine....In the Middle Ages it was a kingdom and later a duchy.
I don't think cloud9 was a bad choice. Ya only need some shiners on those back wheels.

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
One of the 'Half Dozen' PBS channels in the SF Bay Area shows Lawrence Welk several times a week, or at least on weekends. So, Yes. He is still on the air.

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
Funny I never thought about that. Maybe it is some hold over childhood expression coming out in midlife? I was thinking about the whole Cloud 9 theme but my paint scheme changed and so it didn't seem to fit any more. Maybe I should just stick with what I got then.
By the way I am not in the Portland are any other skoolie's out this way?

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
I found and purchased a wood stove this week! Looking forward to adding it to the bus this summer although I was hoping to find a nice round style I am please at my $100 stove. It is a arrow with side and back shields about a mid 90's model. Pics to follow.

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
Anyone made use of this style water holding tank? http://plastic-mart.com/class.php?item=912
They are priced right and seem like the might be a good option what do you all think? Other wise I'm still thinking about the food grade plastic barrel mounted underneath.

Maybe you should give the name some time to bubble up on it's own. No need to rush it. Take a few trips, get to know each other...

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
I see your point. Even after 2 trips of size I'm still feeling out the name thing. After all the sanding I wanted to name it something else completely but we won't go there. LOL

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
Lawrence Welk is a scary memory from the past as my parents and some of my siblings loved the show. I was a Mac Gyver, A Team fan and just have never been able to do the corny humor and the singing. I pity the foo who has to put themselves through Lawrence Welk.
Smitty I'll check a few local retailers I think your on the right track with the farm supply stores they always surprise me for pricing...

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
That tank looks nice but I don't see anything on it about being for drinking water. 50gln for that much money, if you're a touch handy you might see about 55gln barrels from soft drink places (think Coke dist places have them) where you can usually get them for $10, just add your own holes where you need the plumbing.

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
Tank looks good to me. I like how it is flat sided. Seems like it would be easier to mount. And the strap indentations would help with that too I would think.

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
Hey Madpsalmer;
I'm down in McMinnville with a skoolie and a bushel of kids. We should get together sometime. I am working on a woodstove installation. Bring your tribe down for dinner.

For sure, that's awesome. Drop me an e-mail and we'll exchange the necessary info. I would love to see your rig and see your progress on the wood stove piece.

Hey thanks man. Not getting hitched till October tho. I have to finish my next cross country tour first. But we are planning it. Also trying to buy a house, finish the bus, and book the whole tour. Im a busy man. I cant wait to marry her though. I waited till I was 30 and I am sure glad I did.

Re: Cloud 9: My first schoolie
That's awesome! It's worth the wait, I was 24, and I love our kids and my wife's care for me has been a huge deal. She recently told me she thought we should invest in a woodstove that was more suited for the bus even if it cost us more money. I was shocked but then I forget how much she enjoys our bus and cares about the things I enjoy. We're lucky men, Johnny enjoy your ride this summer and if your in the Portland area give me a shout...
