I really like that stuff but the smell is unique, not terrible but I’m wondering what a whole fresh sprayed bus will smell like?
Fortunately I kinda like the smell -- at least compared to other products/paints/oils/ and the Fluid Film is relatively non-toxic which I really like.

It will definitely smell for a day or two but I don't think it really lingers -- but I've never done the whole underside of a bus either!

You should wear an organic vapor respirator if aerosolizing that much of it at one time -- nothing you wanna coat the inside of your lungs with...

The following is from the DTNA.com website using the PartsPro to look up the device for our bus:

VALVE-HEIGHT CONTROL, part number: 16-14530-000

Yeah its what sets your rear ride height. They're a pretty common failiure. Pretty much universal generic parts, from what I understand. Mine's unique but my rear suspension is a proprietary Hendrickson system. Yours is probably Hendrickson but the part looks like a universal one.

I emailed Thomas bus and provided my VIN. I asked for the build sheet. The word doc they provided had html links in it which lead me to the link I provided. If you have a thomas bus and send me a private message I will send you the link to my build for a reference. I don't want to put my link online because I don't want them to maybe remove the content from public access.

Thank you. I will try your technnique. I have a login to the thomasbusonline.com site, but I could not find anything like the diagram you posted. I did find new (to me) interesting things ... as I usually do when I poke around on the site. I have a contact at Freightliner Custom Chassis Company (the folks that *are* Thomas Built Buses) and I will send him an e-mail. If I do not find traction that route, I'll drop you a PM.

Some wall framing done. Although I think officially “furring strips”.

I really wanted to keep the rear windows in view but I’m considering a wall about 16 inches from rear wall for a tool shed, solar stuff, any maybe a water heater.

Does anyone have any pros/cons for such a wall?

Got some stuff for inside the bus over the last few days. Some knotty pine cabinet doors I might try to use on walls. I also got some cabinets with granite counters and about 70 square feet of cherry wood flooring.

Just need to complete framing and get these walls up

Some more progress. Bathroom walls up, basic wiring, Bed frame started. I considered a rear wall and even built it and realized I could not get my cabinets in the front door. Now rethinking and I decided to build the rear bed with access to the door folding somehow Click image for larger version

I’m going to try something but not sure yet. I want the back for a garage and a place for solar controller and other stuff.
The biggest impact to me is a skinny 2x4’ bathroom and having to insulate. With all the patchwork I did in the rear wall I wanted to leave it open/uninsulated in case of any more leaks. I thought I’d just insulate the new wall.

As I’m writing this maybe I’ll just frame in a removable wall in the hole? This way I can still insulate and slide the wall in and out as needed. (Oh, that’s what you suggested huh?)

I’ve put that part off for now. Just glad I’m using screws because my plans are changing often.Click image for larger version
