Perfect timing!! Watched one of those tiny house shows this weekend and they made something like that....I'd been thinking of doing the same thing so I paused the TV show and took a picture!!

Thanks for posting this! We're looking to do just something like this but for a queen size bed.

I've been drawing up similar designs, but for a queen size bed. Not sure how the queen will work in real life, but the floor plan we are working on is the master bedroom / living room will be in the front of the bus, with the kids at the back, and its pretty much how we use our living space now. The bed has been the main thing I've been thinking about and will be key in making it work and be comfortable. Thanks for the great design.

Excellent work !! I have to say I am somewhat of an expert of creating extra space out of every "nook & cranny". great job.

I like this idea! You might want to put rollers on the movable part.

Awilder, I'm in the same boat. I would love to see the pics of this amazing design, but there is nothing there. I guess that's the problem with being 3 years late to the party.

I built a king size bed that folds down the backs from the two 7 foot couches to make the bed up front. Rigid sheet metal base and lower angle iron frame, uppers are attached only to arms, plywood with foam and fabric thicker than the angle iron for cushions, square tubing with welded U shaped sheet metal on the ends hooks over the angle iron and spans the isle when we get ready to fold down the backs to make the bed. We put a memory foam topper on because the foam for sitting is 38# per sq.in. which is too stiff to sleep on. All 3 square tubes, linens, pillows and comforter, memory foam store under the couch even with the wheel wells there. You will have to do some R&D to find what dimension work and how the arms work in the up and down position, yes the arms stay on in both positions but will pinch a finger every now and then if not careful. Look in my album "sportyrick" and I have a couple pics. Don't forget to put a little kick in the backs (shorter upper arm rest) or you will be sitting straight up and down. They rest against the wall when up, on square tubing when down. Also when made into bed we kick the suck bags that the linens are stuffed in under the bed, lots of room for shoes etc. under there.

Click on his name and go to his website. The link to his vlog for the bed design is still there. You can also search for other slatted pull out bed/sofa designs on YouTube.
