Bus is now insured.
I got my license tag this afternoon.
Off to the truck repair shop soon.

applying a little humor

I still have more important things to do, like installing the DC/DC charger.
But, I'm slowly getting back to it after dumping $5500.00 into it with the mechanic shop.
Wife and I purchased material for curtains a few days ago...actually, curtains are all we need to start using the bus as long as we have shore power available.

DC/DC Charger installed (x2)

It's been quite a while since I purchased my Renogy 20 amp charger.
I finally installed it on Friday, Dec 15.
Today, I removed it so I could connect the "LC" feature...so now I guess it's a 10amp charger. I'm hoping that doing that will reduce any potential heat problems with the unit. Unit has been reinstalled and is ready to go.
I'm not planning to purchase my house battery until spring...no point in having the warranty clock ticking away before then.

I used 6 ga stranded cables connected directly to the starter batteries, 30amp fuses supplied by Renogy, 1 fuse in the starter battery compartment, the other in the house battery compartment. 12 ga wire to the "D+" connector on the unit, drawing power from the fuse panel located in the compartment under the driver's window (accessible from outside) 7.5 amp in line fuse, and incorporated a switch on the panel at the driver's station. (repurposed one of my deleted switches) 10 ga wire was used between the unit and the house battery...about a 7' run.

Another small item taken care of was removing the household switches for the bathroom light and water pump and replacing those with DC rated switches. Thanks to whoever it was that pointed out in another thread that household A/C switches could be a fire hazard. Maybe not in my low amp applications but why tempt fate?

I am now waiting for my curtains which are being made by a woman my wife knows.

Curtains, window screens and a passenger seat belt are the obvious items needing attention. Once we start using the bus, I'm sure other things will be revealed that will require attention.

very close to completion....although as many here will tell you, these projects are never finished, there will always be a new "neat" idea or you'll figure out a way to make something in your build better.
