Doubling-Down With Bus #2
Just bought the shorty I've been wanting. Sorta. I WANTED a 466 5 window with air brakes and a manual or auto with o/d.
But I live and work in Central Florida, so a 444E with 545 trans will do just FINE! Its got a 4.10 rear, "190 or 210 HP", and the tires were replaced in mid 2015. New fronts retread rears. WC lift, 12 seater. Am/FM CD... BLING!
Only minor inconvenience is its in Aurora Colorado.

Whatever happened to those International shorties in West Virginia that had the T444E and the 5 spd Spicers? As I recall the auctions did not hit reserve and the districts did not relist the buses.
I was bidding on a few of them but wasn't willing to find out what the reserve was after bidding went over $3K.

I tried reasoning with them up there in WV.
I'd much rather have a CO bus anyway. THis one has more hp than my big bus, and highway gears.

I'm sending a neighbor to go pick it up. Says he's going next week, so it may even be here for the bus party.
The folks at the school district are really cool and they've overnighted me the title and bill of sale, so I can have it tagged and insured for the return trip.
Oh, and did I tell yall the price? 1780 out the door! WOOHOO!
I thought about buying two, but had to show some restraint due to the logistics.

my little red one has the 190 HP (most common) 444E and has plenty of power on the highway at 65... its not a DT-466 but for a short bus it works great.. in a fiull sized bus it would be a Dog...
im working with IHC to see if i can get mine re-rated to 210HP.. its just a computer program change.

I don't care what the item is, why do they do that??? Just make the first bid at your reserve and be done with it. Then you aren't wasting your time or my time. I just don't get it.

Not too much planned, other than using it as a daily driver. We only have one car right now. Fixed up and sold a Focus last year, bought and resold a Vic, but I've been wanting to get a nice short bus to use as a work truck/van.
Will be perfect for towing our huge landscaping trailer.
I'm gona do a quick repaint, pull a couple of seats out, and pretty much use it as is. I'm gonna build a closet-sized restroom so I can take a poop during the work day without going to convenience stores. And I'll put a Fantastic vent on top with a cover, which I already have NIB.
REALLY looking forward to getting my daily driver home!

I think I'll keep my unicorn killer. Jetta wagon. I don't have to tow landscaping trailers but I'm also getting 42+ miles per gallon. Now if I can get the same out of a 90 pax bus, I'll 5hit kittens.

7-9 MPG should be very easy to get.
If you don't do much idling or big hills you should have no problem with the upper number.
Big loads, big hills, and lots of idling and you will be looking at the lower numbers.
