Exclamation HELP!!!! Handicap Floor L Tracks

Hello Everyone!

So my wife and I took the leap and bought a bus. Its maiden voyage AKA my first time ever driving a bus was on the Jersey Turnpike, and up through the Adirondacks on the coldest recorded day in years (she's a beast)

With that said, I am in the demo process... The bus is a mid sized dog nose handicap bus with L tracks bolted through the floor. Problem is is that the bolts have been treated with liquid nail to fight against vibration so they're damn near impossible to ratchet off. I have tried cutting the heads off with a grinder, cutting the bolts off so they're not so long and ratcheted them off, I have broken countless bits trying to drill through the heads through, used air tools and nothing seems to be working.

My last hope is to set a skill saw to the correct depth, cut the wood subfloor out then sawzall the bolts out. If anyone has ANY advice on these damn tracks it'd be highly appreciated!!!!!

You are utilizing the techniques we all go through when removing those bolts. Persistence and you will be so happy when they are out. I ran a skills u the length right next to the bolt row and then pried the plywood out and cut the bolts like you mention.

Lessons from aviation

I too purchased an 8 window bus w/lift and floor rails down left side. I'm in aviation and those rails are about the same ones we use in aircraft floors so that we can change seating configurations, cargo configs, bulkheads, cabinets etc. Anyhow...I decided to leave mine in and use them as design anchors for a modular approach to my interior design. This should allow me to, for example, firmly attach my sink/stove/countertop module to the floor, move seats forward or aft, hang cabinets (there are tracks above the windows too. Not discouraging you from removing them...just saying sometimes it's easier to find a creative way to work with what's there rather than ripping out floors and tearing up knuckles
