Hi, thanks!
1994 with the 5.9 12V Cummins, guessing the 545, and air brakes. No appreciable difference in top speed going from 10/22.5 to 11/22.5.

you'll have to do some math to figure out the speed increase...if speedo shows the same speed with the larger tires, you are going faster...maybe not a lot, but faster just the same...maybe fast enough to snag a coupon from your friendly state trooper as you cruise by.

You're correct about accuracy but was using waze. Pretty decent hill was almost 70 down and faded to 55 back up. All this setup has
to do is make 3,000 miles to be reborn!

Theoretical top speed rarely equals achievable top speed. In many circumstances, gearing up (which is what going up in tire height is) can result in a reduced top speed. What's possible downhill in a vacuum might not be the same as what's commonly experienced on a rolling highway w/in earth's atmosphere, particulary when your frontal cross section is the size/shape of a bus.

Most seats and rear heater out. Will post easy seat cover removal pics tomorrow.

Broke the dang roof vent, best option for 15k roof A/C? Might as well put one in and see if it'll need 2 or?

If you go with rooftop air you're going to need 2 on a bus that size

2x15k? Furrion had some bad reviews about freezing up being unducted. Is there a better 15k choice?

Seems like I'll be stuck running a generator for climate control. Honda EU7000is ftw?

I don't know specifics on different brands/models but I do know one unit probably won't be enough in hot weather. A generator or shore power is the way to go unless you go for a sizeable solar setup. Most people nowadays recommend split units as they're far more efficient but still, power consumption is an issue.
I have 3 Colemans on my roof and although they work, they're about 20 years old. There are far more efficient models available. I have on-board generators to run them. I put in a 50 amp shore power hookup but have zero plans for being in a park.

Welcome to the site.
Tires will affect the speedometer readings/accuracy.

If you are interested in more info on tire size changes, try this for tire comparison:

Thanks. Got to figure out rear end ratio and find some 13 speed to swap in place of AT545. Was going to do Allison 1000 so the wife could drive but she probably won't anyway and $11k to swap one in is a bit spendy. Might as well be able to get the most out of the 5.9.

Field trip to San Miguel Dueñas today. Met with Saul from Repuestos Esmeralda.

Needs six or so weeks for an external conversion. Reasonable prices for sure.

I would drive to Guatemala just for a snazzy paint job like that.

Ref the roof top A/C

he Furion units have been described to me as "throw aways" Work a couple years then not worth repairing. I do NOT have any personal experience with them.

I had a Dometec Brisk Air 2 (13500 btu) installed on my bus, the unit and installation cost just under $1800.00 (I negotiated a 2% discount for not using a credit card)

Others on this site have installed "mini split" units which I believe can be ducted and may be more efficient.

Thanks for the heads up on Furrion. I'm still hoping for an inverter rooftop 120v unit to hit the market.

I know a 3 head minisplit would be totally trick, but haven't seen a hidden/secure mount yet. Hate to have scrappers walk off with my outside unit. And I dont know if the drop in watts required between mini and rooftop would change much because both would run off generator anyway.

P-pump - timing increased
Fuel Plate - #8
Head bolts retorqued.
Added boost/pyro/tach
New alternator
All hoses replaced, oil and filters changed, chassis serviced.

A-1000 swap progress - TPS installed, TCM going out for reflash, torque converter being built by Direct Transmission Parts apparently the TC-222 recommended for the swap is an unavailable oddball but John can make one so that's what's happening.

Getting closer on the A-1000 physical swap, once the TCM/harness is complete hope for a quick out with the 545 and in and hookup with the A-1000.

First test drive with the A-2500 swap.

Love it! Keeps up much better with city traffic. From a short interstate run she pulls hills in the low 60's, level in the low 70's, and hit 80 downhill. 80 is a little spooky.

Probably will do some more performance engine mods but no EGT issues, everything seems A-OK.

Ordered tow bar for chase truck, lights/chains. Getting that installed and looked over and ready for trip.

First breakdown/tow today!

Had the bus in a couple shops, went and picked it up.

Good roadspeed with the trans swap, could use more power but kept up with the trucks. Kinda odd sound like an exhaust manifold leak.

Shut itself off in traffic, found a wide spot on the side of the interstate. Fuel gauge was supposedly fixed, read 1/2. Had some fuel but not much. Added 10 gals, cracked ppump line, had fuel from hand pump. Turned over would not crank. Odd pulse into the intake and seemed like low compression on 1 cylinder.

Anyway, local tow company is getting it and taking it to my buddy's shop.

Will keep y'all posted.
