legault family

Hi to all. Im Daniel and this is my first attempt and building my own skoolie. I have a 97 bb 44 passanger. So far I drove it home from VA and it ran great, 11mpg I was very happy with that! Got it home and started to work, so far I have the seats out, floor up.

Hey Daniel --- Welcome to the Funny Farm! Looks like you picked up a great starter unit there. Hard to beat a BB. And don't hesitate to toss out any questions, there are folks here who've been doing what you are taking on for decades and are happy to share their experience, wisdom, opinions and tricks.

Re: legault family

Ok. so here is the bus as i got with with all the seats still in.

Got the seats out then I needed to use alittle child labor to remove the rubber floor, it was stuck down alot harder the i thought.

Got that all out ok, no real problems or issues found. got it all sweep out and ready to be wire brushed and painted

Re: legault family

Once I got the floor cleaned up I put two coats of rustolium, and sealed all the holes in the floor.
I used 2x4 and 1 1/2 foam, and 5/8 osb for the floor.
It was a pain getting all the wood in on my own but its all done now!

So now im at a stand still. I need to sheet the windows. I was thinking of using metal flashing attached to plywood with liquid nails. and placed from the inside out, then using angle to keep it tight. The drip edge on the outside of the bus will maked attaching metal to the outside alittle of a problem. If anyone has any ideas let me know! I think ill try a test window soon and see how it goes.

Re: legault family

Give GMAC a call.
Quite a few members on this board are insured with GMAC. There might be a few others insured by other carriers but it's rare.

Re: legault family

I have American Family. I have it insured for a set amount though. I had to go through an appraiser and all that hassle. Luckily the previous owner had done much of it before I bought the bus.

You dont have to be a member of camping world, you just get a discount if you are... so join them for the 20 bucks it costs

I got the extra "Goofy Goober" club discount also...
