Maine Coast Top-to-Bottom Rebuild

Hello all,
After years of ideas, months of research and questioning, back and forths with various sellers, finally pulling the trigger on a purchase, and a less-than-smooth and quite costly maiden voyage, our bus arrived a couple weeks ago in excellent shape. We are ecstatic to have her here nearly dwarfing our house and beckoning passersby to slow down and gawk puzzlingly. We have just started the demolition and tool-gathering phase and are working hard “behind the scenes” at planning as much as we possibly can before the building phase begins. Not sure how this bus naming business works, but we didn’t name our child until the night before she was born so I think we are probably going to need a little more time getting to know our rig before defining her (him?).

Our very first forum post was “Newbie with epic plans.” Still holding very true and we are excited to share our ideas, progress, and questions here and are looking forward to receiving all your invaluable feedback, and hopefully provide some helpful information to others on a similar path. Our research is currently focused on determining what massive structural changes we want to make off the bat. Stay tuned for lots of questions regarding what is feasible/doable before we head off to the welders.

How long is your bus?
I would call it a 15 window bus, and at that, 38 feet long. That'd be my guess, but what do I know. Regardless, you have lot of space to work with. Have fun!

We weren't quite sure how to count the windows i.e. include the fire door? but it does measure out to 40 feet. Thanks!
