MFR Bus 637

I started the conversion. Removed all the seats. I have decided to reuse the folding one at the emergency exit door for a passenger seat in the front of the bus.

Some of the wood is rotted under the rubber flooring. I hope to have all of the wood and rubber removed tonight...

most likely a 643. Google pics of 545's and 643's and compare. How many gears does it have? What's the shifter look like?

So I called the DMV today and asked what I needed to do in order to register my bus as an RV. They said I had to have the fire Marshall inspect it. So I explained that I didn't have anything to really inspect yet. I was told I had to wait till the entire conversion was done to register it then. So I asked for the fire Marshall's number. I was given the number to Division of building codes for modular homes. Has anyone else had to go through this?

I ran into that with my first project bus so I just titled/registered as a passenger vehicle in order to be able to drive/insure it.

I had originally planned to paint the existing roof and just insulate and frame over the metal walls. However we had a rain storm come through right after I painted the floor with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer. The bus was leaking from several areas. See pics below. I have now decided to go ahead and finish gutting the walls and remove the emergency roof flaps. I am going to find the source of the leaks and repair. Afterwards I plan to find someone to professionally spray foam the ceiling and walls.
