Had 4 Mack bull dogs, sold them on kijiji about a month ago...needed something a little different. Think we only have a couple of Macks left in the fleet, most of the new trucks/tractors are Internationals and Freightliners with the odd Pete and Western Star.

Wasn't sure what was going to happen at hi-way speeds [100 -120 kmh],
so I made them removable.
Bus sits in storage from Nov - April, didn't want them to go missing or get damaged.

Friend of mine just gave me this for the bus, had it kickin' around his garage for a few years and decided it needed to be installed on something.
Brass train whistle...this thing weighs 10-15 lbs, held on with 3 3/8 bolts.

... what happened to spring?

Well I was wanting to bring the ol' Mule home this week to start working on the tailgate...Mother Nature had a different plan. Freezing rain with snow. Accidents everywhere, no hydro in some spots, all round crappy day....so I stayed home.

Uggh.. I had the displeasure of driving from Sault Ste Marie to Ottawa yesterday afternoon in that mess of ice and slush. 2 hands on the wheel the whole time.

Can you post a video of that train whistle when you get it choochin'? That thing looks mean..

Hydro went out couple of times...

Oh ya it looks very cool, specially when the sun is beaming down ....but it's crap, nothing else good about it IMO. New drivers make thing interesting as well.

That would've been a hell of a drive...how long did that take?

The video, hmmm? Do you have an easy way to explain how to up load to here? I can take the video on my camera once it's hooked up.
Had ECCB pm me with instruction for pics. I'm not much of a computer guy...I get by.

Ask your kids how to do it

No, seriously. You need a Google Account.

Once you have that YouTube uploads are pretty straightforward, but you might need someone to walk you through it the first time.

Cat walk / tailgate

WOW HAS THIS SUMMER FLOWN BY!
Busy workin’ on neighbours steel gates, a buddy’s new garage, tailgate/catwalk for rear of skoolie and a couple weeks of holidays. First attempt was 60” x 84”, got it half done and was going to be way too heavy so we scraped that one and started over. Second attempt was 30” x 84” using 1/8” instead of 3/16” material for the frame. 1x2 for the support arms and 18 gauge for the light boxes and license plate and a piece of expanded metal. Got it all tacked/welded together and mounted to the bumper for a test fit and discovered the bumper mount to the frame was rotten 2/3 of the way through on the drivers side….welcome to rusty Ontario Canada. Cut all the mounting brackets off and started over. Third attempt we cut out four feet of bumper and original mounts and grafted in four feet of ten inch C-channel, made new bumper mounts, reinstalled support arms and voila it worked this time. Welded/bolted everything up solid only to find out we were supposed to weld/bolt the arms an inch higher than they are so the lights were at the stock level….F-IT! That’s where they stay, few to many beers perhaps? Threw a couple coats of Tremclad flat black, wired and installed new LED lights [needed a place for the lights once we cut the back out]. Now we have a platform to stand on to remove the rear of the skoolie…..hopefully in Sept.?

Sun Visor

So we’re modifying/adapting a fiberglass sun visor to fit the forehead of the “Mule”. It came off a 1989 Kenworth K100 cab over[one of my customers gave it to me]. Shortened the passenger side mirror mount 14-16”, don’t remember, then cut/notched it to bend inward…top of the mirror frame was rubbing on the visor. Had this thing off and on 20 times….had to fab all the mounting brackets from scratch. Visor has a bit of a V in it, the forehead is more or less flat. Passenger side outside mount is welded to the mirror frame, drivers side is screwed to the body/cab using existing screws. Had to make rubber washers for install....didn’t want it ridged mounted, thought there may be too stress on the fiberglass. Road tested at 120 km/h, didn’t budge, mirrors vibrate more. My brother’s 80+ year old neighbour is over all the time checking out the progress, he”really digs the menacing look of the visor and spike wheel nut covers”. Peace signs and flowers done way too often, we needed to be a little more u-neek.
