Trim Painting
I will be painting the bus over the next few weeks and I decided to try out the oil based paint I got. I cleaned the entire working area with mineral spirits and made sure it was clean and dry. I then used a brush and painted the rub rail below the windows and between all the widows gloss black. I still need to paint the upper gutter, but I like how it looks.......

Thanks for the pic.....I'm planning on painting the bottom half of my windows black (from the inside), and was wondering how it would look.....now I know. I had either forgotten about your "blackout pieces" for your windows, or else this is the first pic of them from outside the bus. Looks good.

Could you put the shower in with the toilet/bathroom area? Then use your current shower as a closet?
That's what I would change. As far as your bench upgrade goes, I'd leave it. It looks pretty good how you have it and works with how your tv is set up.

I haven't a clue why, but when embedded here, your videos have no audio, but when I view them directly on Youtube, no problem... And it only seems to be your videos. Go figure...
Is there any way I could possibly talk you into including a direct youtube link so I can bypass the embedding?

We had some big storms come through the region and our power has been out for several hours. What is a person to do when the power goes out?

I had no idea they hold an annual "Skooliepalooza" where fellow Skoolie fanatics can meet up. Looks like we have plans to drive 2300 miles to Arizona so we can attend in January....

Power Steering Leak
I been trying to find a power steering leak since the bus has been losing a quart every 100 miles or so. I thought it was the steering box at first, but it turns out to be a poppet on the side of the gear box. Went through some old boxes at the shop and could not find one so I welded it. After welding it I reinstalled it and no more leaks!

Car Show!
So a friend of mine came to my Geo Metro meet and told me that since he came to my car show, I need to bring the bus to his friend's car show called Fatman's Invasion at Thompson Raceway. This is a laid back "Bring what you got" car show and drag races. We took the bus and as we were entering the gates I could hear the announcer on the loudspeaker say........
"We even have school busses coming in the gate!"
We parked in a central location, locked the bus up and watched some drag racing for about an hour. After that we went back to the bus, put a few signs up and let over 100 people come and tour the bus conversion. Everyone loved the bus and once word got around we had a line of people waiting to see it. Here are some pics..........

Roof Painted
I parked the bus next to our deck so I could easily access the roof. I used a bottle of full strength purple power, a scrub brush, and a water hose. This roof was so damn dirty! After I scrubbed it clean, I wet sanded it and washed it again. I let it dry for 4-5 hours and then rolled on the oil based silver/gray paint. It actually turned out better than I thought it would.....

Are you going to paint the whole thing silver? I like the blacked-out grille and headlight surrounds.

I want to paint all the yellow and change it to silver. I have one gallon of silver left. I did the grille and headlight buckets a few days ago and like how they look.
