Yeah, done that once. People don't like the additional color on their vehicles.

I swear, it has rained at least every other day for the last 6 weeks.
You may beat me yet!.

It's been tough even getting the sanding done. This should be nice summer weather by now but I keep getting light showers just often enough to keep things wet.

I'm actually not very close to painting yet. I keep finding more side jobs, and when I get the materials it's raining again. Frustrating.

From watching other people's paint jobs I'm excited about getting this color change going on my bus.

I don't want to rush it and get rained on causing allegator skin like Bob, or is that texture?

In order of importance I'd say get your insulation in during this dry weather. It's so easy to get distracted with side jobs that you have to exert your ability to focus.

Last summer I stripped out the interior panels and insulation just before the hot weather started. You want to talk about a miserable bus. The top of my head was actually red from the heat eminating from the ceiling, not to mention the sound of thunder while driving the bus from all the flexing metal. Insulation isn't just to keep you warm in the winter. As Christopher has said so many times, decent insulation reduces your cooling needs dramatically. I don't have AC at all at this time, but I can be in my bus on a 90* day without discomfort now. I do also cover the windows on the sunny side of the bus to stop the greenhouse effect. It's a process highly dependent on where you live.

At the same time I am excited about getting some paint on my bus. Forty years ago I'd have simply opened a can of paint and started going at it after brooming off the cobwebs. I've been sanding, off and on, for over two weeks. I've got a number of chemicals and hardeners that I normally wouldn't mess with that are going into this roller paint job. I hope it's worth it because it's sure a pain.

I am painting because I have to. I can't keep it yellow or any part of it school bus yellow. So to avoid problems I am painting as time and weather allow. I may start some small projects if the weather doesn't change soon. A damp day won't stop me from plumbing or electrical, but it won't let me paint. This week I plan on scrubbing the interior and looking into flooring. My wife wants hardwood... I am leaning towards a laminate in the back 2/3 of the bus and a rubberized floor up front where most of the traffic and the kitchen area are.

i do not know if you need a second dryer as both busses i have done, i just added shut off valve next to the air tank, and plummed my air lines the same as i have done in the shop with dryer, regulator, etc. the most expensive parts are the 1 inch fittings and the 50' hose for the 1 inch impact wrench.

I'm painting because I want to. I'm not required, but if I travel to other states I don't want to be debating the paint job with any LEOs. I've got $100 there abouts into this and that includes my superduper caulk for the windows. We don't count hours of labor around here or it obviously wouldn't be worth it.
I've been trying to get some seam sealer on the roof, also dependent on the weather, before I paint. Also trying to re-seal the windows without getting caught in a rainstorm.
On top of everything the weathermen keep lying about the weather. I didn't know there was a profession where you could constantly be wrong and still keep a good paying job.

I've never used a drill so much since I started de-riveting buses!
I now have a nice collection of cheap to decent drills.
3M makes some amazing products, that's for sure.

So work has been keeping me too busy to get much done... But I scored a recaro air driver seat... For free. Was passing by a recycling place that had 30 city busses lined up. I wandered in, saw what looked like a brand new seat in the second bus. Asked the manager how much to buy it... He said "if you want it, take it. It has no scrap value." And one of his guys came over and pulled it out! Big score. It's much nicer than the driver seat in my bus. My old driver seat just got promoted to passenger seat.

It is located in a top-secret area that only people that work for my company have access to. You certainly can't see any of them from the street.
