Re: My Wayne B700 6.6 Turbo Bus Conversion Project

Well, hello! we are located in Martin Tn, just across the river. Also working on a 1992 B-700 6.6 Blue Bird 59 passenger. Have the wiring and water supply done as well as refrigerator, range, kitchen sink, vanity, toilet and a/c. Will try to post pictures next week. Mine has a brake cylinder leak on the right rear-need to tear into that soon. Just got the aluminum to fabricate the holding tanks-lots of aluminum welding in store. We are getting it ready to take a cross-country trip to Sacramento Ca. so my son can live in it while he goes to school at Wyotech. It's still school bus yellow, and don't know if we'll have time to get it painted by the last week in October. Original plan was for him to take it with him this week, but we ran out of time. Still looking for a 2000w inverter so the refrigerator can stay alive on the trip. Planning to put in a heat exchanger so that engine coolant can heat hot water on the road-water heater is electric. Holding tanks will be 80 gallon fresh water, 60 gallon gray and 45 gallon black when I get finished fabricating them. What size fuel tank does yours have?

Re: My Wayne B700 6.6 Turbo Bus Conversion Project

From what I've seen, each seat will hold two adults, or three kids according to the manufacturer. So, if you have 11 windows, that means you have 22 seats. That's 44 adults or 66 kids. Most manufacturers would say you have a 66 pax bus. Also, I found a good way to tell the length of a bus behind the driver is to measure 2.5' per window. So, if you have 11 windows, you'll have 27.5' of living space behind the driver! Give or take a foot I'd say. I have a 10 window bus and have exactly 25 feet of living space behind the driver. 11 windows is a good size for a dog nose bus. 12 windows is about the most you'll see on a dog nose bus. On the flat front buses, I've seen 14 and even 15 window buses. So, if you're worried about size, you can't get much bigger for the type of bus you have. Also, I had no experience converting a bus. But I've taken a ton of ideas off of here. Look at all of the buses in the gallery. You'll get lots of ideas. I've stolen Lapeer20m's paint job, Vonslatt's plumbing ideas, etc. Nobody seems to mind! Make sure you take pictures of your bus and the trip home!

well, if it's like most of our skoolies, it'll be behind schedule and over budget!

HA HA! True. But my bus nickel and dimes me to death. I really have no idea where all the money goes. I buy stuff here and there. I've bought a lot of stuff that I haven't even used yet. Just waiting for when I have the time! I bought a really nice seat at the junk yard this past weekend. It was out of a late model Bonneville. It's very comfy and will be replacing my crappy drivers seat! Pics to come...

$10 around here! Some salvage yards like to rape you financially when you go in there. This place I go to is pretty reasonable and I get to pull the stuff myself.
