Hi Jenae, welcome and keep your chin up! What kind of bus did you get? That info would help and, if you can, a photo of the battery compartment. Some of these are 24 volt systems, so replacing just one battery would leave you with just 12v. The clicking, without cranking, sounds like low voltage to the starter. Do you know if the starter you installed is a 12v or 24v starter? There are lots of other possibilities but let's start with the simple ones.
Do you know your way around an engine at all? If you do, you could short across the starter terminals to check for a bad starter solenoid. Or you could even use jumper cables to the starter itself.
Please let us know what you got, and what year, so we get a better idea of the options. And, where are you located?
