Bob - the electrtic car batteries in pure electrics are much larger.. the Gen 1 volt only had a 38 mile advertised all electric range... they gave it a little more each year.. then the 2016 went ot I think 50 all electric.. the Volt is considered a plug-in hybrid since it has a gas engine capable of running the car on long trips even with a dead battery..

the likes of the Bolt, Tesla, and even LEAF have much larger packs.. TESLA used to designate the car number by the KwH.. not sure if they still do or not.. so a P90D would have a 90Kwh battery pack in it..
