Our 1995 International School Bus

We won the auction for this 1995 International 77 passenger school bus. It has the DT 466 six-cyl in it. We lucked out it was about 25 miles from us so we went and looked at it before the auction ended. We picked it up last Friday July 21st. Have started some of the demo got all the seats out. And started taking some of the rubber off the floor. So hot out side can't stand to be out there to long at a time.
There is a picture of most of the bolts and nut that we removed so far.

Yes it seems to be in pretty good shape so far. We wasn't sure whether we were going to take the rubber up off the floor or leave it and put a floor on top. But we decided it would probably be best to take it off and see what was under there. So that is what we're doing right now. And the floor seems to be in really good shape . There are a few surface rust spots but that will be easy to take care of no spots that have went through at all so we lucked out there so far. As we was taking the rubber up there is water under the rubber mat so glad we decided to take it all up now we can treat the floor and go from there.

Leave the rubber down. It's good insulation.

We thought about leaving it down. But had seen where a lot of them had rust under them so we decided to pull it up and see and glad we did. it was wet under some of it and it did have rust under the rubber. Not bad but glad we found it so we can seal it and start fresh. we are going to lay insulation board down then plywood then what ever we decide to put down on top of that not 100% sure what that will be.
It is a lot of work pulling it up and getting the floor ready but I think it will be worth it in the end.

Good choice to get rid of the puke mat!
I bet it already smells a LOT better in your bus!

The thing was it didn't smell bad till we started pulling it up then it was BAD. But yes that smell is gone and we are so glad we did the extra work there.
