Some of it is going back.
I’ve heard what people here have argued about going down the road.... and so half the system will be reinstalled in the front of the bus.

A/C Removal
With a change of heart, I’ve decided to permanently remove the a/c system from the bus.
I present this as an opportunity to anyone interested in all of the components, to come and assist with its removal. The refrigerant has not yet been removed and everything has not yet been touched. It worked when delivered last week. Cover the cost of the refrigerant removal and the system is yours!
I have some time before I need to address this, so let me know if you are interested and we can make plans to make it happen.

A/C System
Here are pictures of the 2 skirt condensers.
The 2 evaporators and ductwork can be seen in pics uploaded earlier in this build thread.
Pics of the compressor(s) will come soon.

Chris, I’ve been thinking a whole lot about this. I think you’re right that now’s the time to take care of the steel. I’ll have to cut the seat bolts after All!
The up side is that I’ll gain the 3/4 inch in headspace by foaming from the steel rather than the rubber.
Thanks man!

thats a nice A/C system to yank and not put one of back.. if you are going to stay in the north in summer then you likely will only sweat half a gallon driving instead of 5 gallons like if you go south...
keeping once makes the most sense if tyou are going to trave llong distances.. in anything warmer than about 80 degrees..
Upstate NY is a bit too far for me to travel to snag some A/C pieces.. i can understand how they seem to wreck the aesthetics of a build... buit thats where you move the evaporator to a spot that doesnt interfere near as much with your interior build-out..

I pulled the road a/c on my Eagle. I live to regret it.
I-40 running through AZ on I-40 in July. I had the generator running and both roof airs running full blast. I was wearing nothing but a pair of shorts. I think it was closer to 10 gallons of sweat.....
I felt like the ant under a magnifying glass.

I might be interested in any Ac components you are getting rid. Was thinking about adding air to our build. Where in NY are you located?

1. Can I move the condensers to the roof? I’ll have a cargo rack that I can mount them to.
2. What can I do to refresh the evaporators? The lines that move liquid look pretty gunked up inside. Can they be flushed?

made a few drives in 100 degree weather during the middle of the day. it's not pleasant. my wife would like if we had AC. i have a feeling you will regret removing that system! i'm working on a set up where the AC is blowing directly on us running from a generator. i think it might work but a factory setup is the way to go.

Road a/c in a bus is huge in comparison to RV roof a/c. IIRC: my road a/c was over 100k BTU. My roof a/c's combined were 24k BTU.
