Nothing wrong with slow progress[emoji51]. Insulation looks great!

Almost three gallons of Sher-Kem "Pure White". A quart and a half of hardener and a gallon of xylene for thinning and clean up.

Paint was around $55 a gallon. Hardener $37 a quart and xylene $23 a gallon. I know that I can get xylene cheaper but I was there and they had it in stock.

The paint finish is exceeding my expectations. I was hoping for "50 feet beautiful". It actually still looks ok when you get within 40 feet.

Yeah, it is a big job. Nearly killed me on Saturday.

Well, not really, I just wanted to die I got my butt kicked.

I sanded the problem areas on the roof dawn to metal, cleaned, primed and painted. They look fine now except a couple of little spots that are underneath the solar panels.

Looking real good Steve! I have still done pretty much nothing on my bus.
My railroad here in Montana got shut down by BNSF. April 29th was my last day here. I started working in Arlington Oregon on May 6th.

The commute is a little on the long side at 455 miles! I’m putting around a thousand miles a week on my Honda. Glad it gets good mileage!

Arlington is only 136 miles from your place so I’ll have to look you up one of these weekends once this covid crap settles down (if it ever does).

Two spare bedrooms and a comfortable travel trailer in the driveway. Cold beer in the fridge. Come on over!

How does the future look? Any chance of work coming back to Montana? Any plans to relocate to Oregon?

Or...... You could move to Dayton and commute. Between the two of us we could probably have roadable buses by next year.

Take care. Ruthie and you are in our prayers.

Regarding tail lights???

The existing tail lights are pretty utilitarian. I would like to look at replacing them all with:

https://www.raneystruckparts.com/15-...RoCYdYQAvD_BwE

I have red, amber and clear on each side as well as a small light below that is also running/turn. The little one duplicates the function of the big ones. Any reason why I can't delete it?

The linked lights are available as solid on or sequential. I am thinking of stacking three of them on each side. The red and white would be solid on and the Amber sequential.

I think that I would stack them mounted horizontally about 4" apart.

What do you all think?

Dealing with the crashed cap turned out to be more out to be a lot tougher than I expected.

I tried pounding and pulling. Then both of them at the same time. Then I cut it all off....

I am pleased with the outcome. I have a very protected location for my mini splits.

Thank you.

I keep reminding myself that it isn't a show car. I caught myself trying to fix little flaws in the existing body/paint and realised that I could spend a year at it and no-one but my is likely to notice. Heck with it. I am going to make it white and good.

looking good Steve, What color is the bottom going to be? Painting is a pain. It is the prep work that is the worst. heatgun and plastic razorblade for the decals and stickers, sanding, wiping down with alcohol, masking, it never seems to stop. I still need to paint my rub rails and bumpers with my trim color. also noticed a part on the hood that is a bit light and needs another coat.

It is going to be all white to begin with. I have not gotten to the bottom yet. I wanted the top painted before I install windows. It is going well enough that , weather permitting, I may continue with the bottom.

When we get on the road we are going to head down to Phoenix to have murals painted on the bus. Take a look at his work: https://www.arizonamurals.net/commercial

That's the style I am going to use on my bus. I have replaced some trailer lights with these and am very pleased with how they look. I will leave the round white for backup because the holes are already in the lid, but all the rest will be these. I am going to have 4 on each side mounted on a diagonal, 2 as tail blink, 2 as tail stop, with one at the top center and one about halfway down center to act as tail and high mount stop.

This guy does amazing work and he is stinkin fast too!! I was going to have him do a mural on the back wall, but my daughter started painting and is getting pretty good, so I think I'll have her do something instead.

So you loped of a segment of the back roof and you're going to put mini-split compressor units up there. I got to see that in detail. On a RE that last window space is kinda wasted space in the cabin anyway.
