I have been wanting to buy a skoolie for quite some time. I have spent many an hour binge watching bus conversions on youtube and seeing the conversions on this site. I am finally picking one up on Monday.

Last week, I went and looked at some from craigslist and I talked to a mechanic that I trust about what to look for and such. In our conversation, he mentioned that he had done some work on a really good running bus for a friend and that said friend was probably willing to trade for it. I have some restaurant equipment from a restaurant I used to have and it's all just been sitting in storage. It turns out that this guy deals in used restaurant equipment and after talking a few times, we came to the agreement that I would trade a commercial oven for the bus and he would take the rest of the equipment on consignment and sell it for me. Win WIN!

I had originally wanted a 70+ pax, and this is not one. So, since I am not going out of pocket for this one, I am going to go ahead and move forward with the conversion and start hitting the auctions for a larger one down the road.

This one comes with a Harley lift! Well, they call it a "wheelchair lift", but I don't have a wheelchair. One of my thoughts through this process has been to have a bumper pull car/truck and that I wanted to bring my Harley so that I can ride all over the country. I wasn't sure how I was going to accomplish this, unless I pulled my heavy-ass avalanche with the Harley in the back. So, now, the plan is to pull a 24Kw fiat electric car that will act as battery backup for extended boondocking, to my existing 5+Kw battery/1.2Kw solar system that I will be putting in the bus.

Nice, I've been thinking about a motorcycle or an Elio, I'm a long time motorcycle rider too, rice grinders mostly.

when getting a bus works out that well for you, you know that you and the bus were fated to be together!

Today was a long day. I drove a couple hours and the gentleman I was picking up from didn't have time to get her ready, much less have the title ready. She's been sitting for a while at a church. One of the batteries is shot. Two of the tires are completely flat. But the others seem to be in pretty good shape. We tried to get everything done today, but it got a little warm and the fella is over 70. Then he found out that the lady at the church who has the title was out today. So I headed back. He is getting some new shoes and a battery for her and locating the title, but he insists that we can take care if it tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

She has a 7.3l with the AT. It turns out she is a '91.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome!

Scott, two wheels are two wheels... all the four wheelers are trying to kill us just the same.

I'm told it's 65. I'll update that when I know myself.
