Re: Project "Brutus"

I have really been thinking silver for my bus and this might have sealed the deal.

What kind of paint is that?

What kind of Primer is that?

What kind of prep did you do??

What kind of spray gun?

Thanks
Tony

Paint

Primer, but white...

Prep was lots of sanding, scuffing, some filling where it really needed it, wiped the whole thing down with paint thinner, and then taped. I also pressure washed it before and after wiping it down with paint thinner.

Gun, too small technically, but it worked fine. Super simple to use.

Re: Project "Brutus"

Here is what the paint scheme is going to look like. I was planning on doing just the rub rail directly beneath the windows, and then the bottom section shown, plus the rub rail below it, but my wife pointed out that leaving the rub rails (with all the rivets) aluminum gave it more of a sleek look. I agree, so this is the final scheme. Heck yes. Also, should have steel for the rear window openings this thursday

Work is just a place you use to plan what youre going to do to your bus when you get home.

Jake, your bus does look like an aluminum can, really cool. Almost futuristic. Awesome job.

Thanks guys!! I feel like getting it painted was my last major hurdle. The rest of what is left is stuff I enjoy. I am hoping that tomorrow I can get some of the black done and cover the rear windows. Picked up my sheet metal for that the other day and I am ready to rock Can't wait to see the black on there. My elderly neighbor came marching over last night as I was by the bus marking the sheet metal to cut and I got a little nervous. She just wanted to tell me how much she loved the color
