One of the things I liked about the pusher school bus. there isn't as much over hang behind the rear wheel. Even though my front wheel is inside my living space I have a shorter wheel base, so turning in easier. I love flying over the curb in a sharp turn
My water tank will be just behind the rear wheel, in front of the engine.

Yep, that is definitely a benifit to a pusher. You do have the drivetrain weight on your axle though, so I guess it works out. I have a 17' trailer that I pull behind the bus, sometimes. That overhang makes it a little interesting at times, lol...
Speaking of a trailer... The first long trip has been scheduled for the bus! 10-11 to 10-27 we are driving to northern California and then on the way back stopping near Kalispell, MT to see my sister. My parents are coming with and I will be pulling their camper. Its a 28-30' toyhauler, probably weighing around 6-7k. I'm not 100% sure on the size. I'm going to be over 65' truckin down the road. I am way too excited to drive through the mountains and see how it does

I ordered two 100 gallon tanks for my fresh water storage last week and they are supposed to arrive in the next few days. When full, they should weigh over 1600 lbs, but I can always fill them partway to save weight if that becomes an issue. The tanks will be installed between the rear axle and the side entrance, so I'm hoping my center-of-gravity calculations were in the right ballpark. I definitely don't want to run out of fresh water when I'm boondocking in the middle of nowhere.

That is a LOT of water!! I don't plan on boondocking a lot. Not really the purpose of the bus. I just want plenty of fresh water while underway.
Temperature update... It has been pretty hot here. 90's during the day and over 80% humidity. It's 94% humidity right now  The difference in the bus is borderline unbelievable. It is remaining about 5* cooler than outside, which has NEVER even come close to happening. Previously, even in the 80s, I would walk in and it would feel like a SAUNA! The rear 1/2 is in the sun and the roof would get hot and heat the bus. Now it is cool and adding no heat to the bus whatsoever. So impressed with the Bus Kote. The sides feel cool to touch as well. I feel the aluminum paint actually is reflecting some of the heat, but that is purely speculation.

The temp is the same here, and I will be out welding today. My bus is about 10* warmer on the inside even with all the windows out. That is a big difference.

It is pretty awesome stuff, can't even imagine working in my bus over the last couple months without it. The sides of my bus are a different story though. Once I added 1.5 inches of styrofoam inside the wall and another 1.5 inches where we furred out to the chair rail, it makes the inside even cooler but the outside is too hot to touch in the direct afternoon sun, hoping to mitigate that somehow when we paint the outside, might add some of those beads to the paint when we paint it, I don't know (we bought enough for 12 gallons and used 5 on the roof mixed with white elastomeric paint, like Bus Kote).

Yeah, I intend to be off the grid for weeks at a time. I want to be able to find a good location for photos and then wait until the weather and light combine to give me great photo opportunities.

Yeah, PD...I went through the picture thread and was amazed. I have several photographer friends who are incredibly talented (not instagram wannabes) and your pics really stood out. Specifically the way you capture light, and your editing skills. REALLY looking forward to more.

Once I start traveling, I'm going to try to maintain a separate thread for my "on the road" adventures. I'll add to the conversion thread when I do something to the bus, but I wouldn't want to clutter it up for people who may want to read about just the conversion.

Problem. Large object with lots of rust. Solution. Muriatic acid and phosphoric acid  Sprayed with muriatic to QUICKLY dissolve the rust, rinsed with water to nuetralize, sprayed immediately with phosphoric acid to dissolve any remaining rust AND prevent flash rust. Don't rinse, let it dry on the metal. It actually coats and protects the metal. Genius
