Well it has been awhile, After September the back pain got pretty intense so i took some time off the bus and tinkered with the house. Now that the weather is starting to go towards spring the pain seems to be lessening again. So now that things are getting better i will start posting up pics as i work along. My goal is to have this thing on the road mid may. So i can finally use it.
Question??: Has anyone else in colder weather used laminate flooring in their bus???? It says to keep above a specific temperature to store it. I don't think it will be getting wet in the bus if i leave the linoleum down and lay it over top. I have a bunch left over and it looks way nicer then what i have in the bus. If anyone has let me know what you think. The flooring also has built in foam backing too and is 12mm.
Thanks
Chris

Nice work, glad your back.
laminate flooring in a bus is a bad idea all around. Temp swings cause cracking and separation, humidity changes do the same. Any amount of water from boots, ect and it buckles so bad you will trip over it.
I would like to see laminate flooring removed from being sold. It is a look good for short term, temporary fix. Just one more disposable product on the market. Many many people like the price and the look when it's first installed. They hate it down the road when it won't stand the test of time.
Vinyl plank flooring looks and installs the same as laminate flooring. That's where the similarity's stop. laminate flooring is a pressed sawdust wood base with arborite laminated to the pressed sawdust base.
Vinyl plank is a plastic that carry's a life time residential warranty, 10 year commercial warranty.
Vinyl plank is also used in many of the big grocery chains like Wal mart, Super Store, ect. If it stands up to the foot traffic in one of those places, it should out last the bus.
Vinyl Plank is what I will be using in my bus.

I'm using laminate in some areas. Its easy enough to replace if needed, and in my case its already sitting here leftover from another project.
Holding up well four years later and we even had a bit of a water spill from the ac drainage backing up.

I like the sink as well, to classy for my build.....got a new stainless one given to me, still need taps.
Also have 450 sq. ft. 8mm laminate flooring with cork under lay that was given to me, don't think it will last with muddy/wet ATV'S sittin' on it? Maybe I'll use Rhino liner or something of the sort for the rear half of the bus? ...something I can hose out.

I would lay that diamond plate rubber mat that is sold in 3 and 8 foot wide rolls.
Our princes auto, and peavey mart both have it.

Hey, thanks for the reply's. I really used to hate laminate flooring and swore i would never get it again after having it in my last house. But when i was shopping for flooring for my house we came across this stuff. It locks extremely well and has its own foam backing. It's 12mm thick with a 25 year warranty on it. We have never seen laminate at this quality before and i could replace the entire floor 2x over and still be less then the hardwood that looked the same. I get people who come in my house and say wow i love the new hardwood... my wife and i giggle and say no its laminate. The only reason i can tell is that you notice its floating in some areas where with hardwood you would not experience that.
My biggest concern too was the temperature changing. Moisture does effect it and it says so on the box. I am planning on spray foaming the under side of the bus flooring to give it some good insulation and i think i am going to remove most of the side windows too. It will help keep it dryer in there. For the cost $0 and i could replace it again in 5 years for 100$ or so is what makes me like the idea. So that's the tough decision.
Nat its funny i just saw that rubberized flooring at PA the same day you posted the link. Weird how life works like that hehe.
I picked up a sand blaster at PA for 50% off, going to use it to clean up the frame and rims/hubs because before i bought it the bus sat in long grass for 4 months so it started flaking. just looks bad but it comes off pretty quick with a wire brush but this will help get in the corners etc and that way i don't have to take the back wheels off to clean up the 5 spoke. They can take them off when it goes for safety!!!
Bus Items: 20gal Pressurized Blaster, Under sink shut offs.
My wife and i also took up archery (Re-curve, Traditional instinctive shooting) Its a lot of fun as there is a range near my house. its a great date activity!!!! hehe.
Archery, Flooring & making my wife happy with new fridge and stove! If i keep her happy she supports anything i every want to do...

I am having a bitch of a time getting parts. Does anyone know of a list of part numbers for Blue Bird? particularly brakes. I am looking to get rotors but the local place for heavy equipment cant help me without a part number.

Your buses build/data plate should have all of the information you would need for your running gear.
It should list the original engine, transmission, and axles.
Depending on the year the axles are most likely Eaton or Dana.
Good luck.
