That's what I used. I got the 602 kit. Are you happy with the results? And what did you use to carve away the excess?

about 90% i had my tanks a while before i got to spray so i had a few spots that where gummy or crunchy that i had to re do... but if i paid attention to the shade of green i might have caught that sooner.

for shaping i did a lot of blind space spraying so i wouldn't have to and to minimize waist. but we put up ripped pieces of 2x between the bus ribs so we had an elevation maker about every 15" so a 10" drywall putty knife we almost spans it. tho i think we did more work with 4" putty knives. all of which we sharped with a bench grinder.
for the corners of the ceiling to get better definition we used an angle grinder with a wire wheel which shapes beautifully but it makes a butt load of foam snow and if its windy will piss off your neighbors down wind. and you will need full goggles and respirator for dust/snow.

That wire wheel does shape nicely but after 5 minutes of work I had an hour cleanup....nope not for me. I started out with the angle grinder but that was not really doing it for me because it was taking too long and the 4.5 blade was really not big enough to get much done. I ended up buying a cheap electric meat carving knife. Cut through it like butter. All in all it was about a 12 hr job broken down into 3 days.

Well we are waiting on some brackets for the roof before we can tackle the ceiling so the interior is on hold. Our two 70 gallon water tanks came in so we worked on building the insulated boxes and framework. We used some metal bedframes and chopped them up to make the frames. So far it's working out

Nice work it looks like it is coming along well. I like the side emergency door, I wish I had one

This is where I am at.The ceiling and floor are stripped, the side walls are still intact.
I am thinking about leaving the side walls and just framing and insulating over then with 2x2s. I just don't see a huge advantage of tearing them out ?

Was it worth taking them out ?

I go back and forth all the time trying to figure out if half the stuff I'm doing is worth it. It really depends on the condition of the bus. What lurks behind the panels, condition of insulation... We didn't have any mold but discovered drill holes which we might have missed if we didn't pull the panels.

I bought A Grade plywood for the side walls which I regret now. Nearly all the sidewalls will be covered by beds or cabinets so none of it will be seen could have used the cheaper stuff and saved some $$. Lessons learned

^ Thanks, for the feed back. I will probably leave them, they look clean and the bus is going to be a rustic camper.

Started on the ceiling it's a lot slower than expected but it's moving along.

It's going to be beautiful. Is the hard part screwing into the metal ribs? I noticed you didn't use furring strips on the ribs to prevent thermal bridging. I guess you don't see much cold in sunny Az.

How will you finish the wood? I will be at that stage soon (I hope !). There is a cool Japanese finishing technique I will probably use called Shou Sugi Ban.

Mine were hiding fiberglass "insulation" that was COVERED with black mold.
The more you demo, the better its gonna smell and the better it'll be insulated, just my 2 cents. It really won't take more than a day to do it, if you decide to.

Getting the tongue and groove to fit snug was more difficult than expected. The curve is a pain to work with. It slowed the progress down more than anticipated.

That wood burning technique looks nice. Think we are just going to pick out a nice stain though.

Oh, that makes sense. Perhaps on those edge boards I'll widen the groove and narrow the tongue a bit so it's a sloppy fit.

Thanks and looking forward to watching the rest of your build.

Earlier in the build I boxed in our water tanks and started working on a frame to mount them. I was concerned about water, rocks and debris putting some wear and tear on the wood. I found some teardrop trailer builds that use a Tite Bond II, cotton canvas, and exterior paint to create a nice waterproof canvas wrap. Google poor man's fiberglass and you'll find a good instructable on it.

That looks amazing ! Why do you say 'finally' ? How long did it take and how many helpers? I bet you never want to see another screw again !!!

Well Done. I will be headed that direction soon, myself. How thick is your board?

I guess I thought it would go a lot faster. It's just me and the wife knocking this thing out. Maybe all those time lapse you tube videos made it appear faster but it took us three weekends.

EVERYTHING takes longer than expected. The simple jobs "should take an hour or 2" take a day and a half, if done right. The results speak for themselves. You will get to lean back in your lazy boy and admire the beautiful ceiling.

So, how thick? looks about 5/8"
